The AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) helps ensure that people living with HIV and AIDS who are uninsured and under-insured have access to medication.
The Alaska ADAP is funded by Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) Part B funds. The Alaska ADAP is required by federal law to be the "payor of last resort." The Alaska ADAP may not provide services to an individual who is eligible for Medicaid or other Public Assistance, or who has private insurance or Veterans Administration benefits, any benefits that could be covered by the non-ADAP payor.
In the State of Alaska, to be eligible for ADAP enrollment, an individual must meet the following criteria:
An individual may self-refer to ADAP or be referred to ADAP by an agency. A referral can be made by calling the Alaskan AIDS Assistance Association (Four A's) Front Desk at (907) 263-2050 and completing an intake screening. A warm handoff is made to the Four A's ADAP team who will review eligibility.
